NATIONAL STRATEGY ON MASS HOUSING DELIVERY, SLUM UPGRADING UNDERWAY
A new era is drawing on the housing sector, following
a broad consensus reached by participants at the Nigeria’s first national
housing and slum summit, which urged the federal government and state
governments to immediately launch and implement a national programme of action
towards reducing by half (50 per cent) the housing deficit by 2025 and
eliminating it by 2043.
The resolutions known as Abuja Declaration were part
of the National strategy on Mass Housing delivery and slum upgrading adopted
after a two-day summit in Abuja, recently, with the theme: Developing a national
strategy for mass housing and slum upgrading.
