Policies, which are to
be cast coded down into state level policies;
In his paper titled:
“Urban Mobility: Option and Effects of Intermodal Split in Lagos”, Professor
Kayode Oyesiku, said that an integral intermodal transport system contributes
to a prosperous and positive urban society by minimizing the negative impact of
mobility such as traffic accidents energy and climate constraints.
According to Oyesiku,
integral intermodal transport system optimizes positive impacts of moving
people and goods through more comfortable, secure, safe accessible, efficient
and sustainable Lagos Metropolis.
Although, he admitted
that managing urban growth has become one of the most important challenge of
the 21st century, “but providing efficient urban mobility for the
population of developing world living in the urban areas is perhaps the most
daunting of the challenges”, said Oyesiku, noting that no nation and indeed, a
metro-polite city can truly develop without an order achieved through planning
for the mobility of its people.
