BUILDERS SEEK ESTABLISHMENT OF BUILDING INDUSTRY BOARD

  

 A Building industry board should be established in order to identify and strategies the training needs in the industry, the Nigerian Institute of Building has said. The NIOB in a communiqué issued  at the end of its Annual General Meeting and convention, with the theme, “Skills development and entrepreneurship in the construction industry”, noted that there was a wide gap in the country and that the existing facilities for skill acquisition were grossly inadequate and poorly maintained. According to the communiqué seven technical papers presented at the forum include National Vocational qualification framework and institutional linkages for skills development in the Nigerian building Industry.
