OGUN PLANS REHABILITATION OF RURAL ROADS
The
Ogun State Government says it will embark on the rehabilitation of rural roads
in the state as soon as the rainy periods subside. The Permanent Secretary,
Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Kayode Ademolake, said that the
government had already rehabilitated over 1,235 kilometres of such roads with
culverts across the 20 local government areas of the state in recent times. “A
lot has been done on rural roads, currently, there is heavy downpour, most
rural roads are hard tones and if you grade rural roads during the rainy
season, it will amount to waste of public funds. Immediately the rain stops, we
will move in and start grading of all these roads,” he said.
