LAGOS SETS SEPTEMBER DEADLINE FOR ROAD REHABILITATION
Following public outcry on the
conditions of some roads in the state, the Lagos Government has announced September
deadline for the completion of roads under rehabilitation in the metropolis.
The roads that would be completed by the end of September include
oke-afa-ikotun egbe, regina mondi, mushin, Brown street, oshodi, naval
dockyard, apapa and ipaja-ayobo road, among other. Addressing the media
personnel during site tour last week, the general manager of Lagos state public works corporation (LSPWC), Mr.
Ayotunde Sodeinde, an engineer said the mandate giving by the Lagos governor,
Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, is to ensure that these roads are in good shape, and
completed by the end of September. The economic loss and inconvenience being
created cannot be valued. As such, we need to deploy the needed resources, men
and materials to the site and ensure that we meet the September deadline,” he
said.
